I’ve been busting my head trying to get Mobile Ink Library’s InkCanvas control to work as expected.

Unfortunately it seems to behave differently than native InkCanvas control. I’m not an native code expert but I’d expect that when using p/invoke I should get same return values as in native code. In native sample code InkCanvas works just as described in MSDN and I get correct return values from functions. But when using managed code InkCanvas behaves differently.

SetAutoExpand function returns 0 as there would be no problems. SetAutoScroll returns 1, which means there was some errors. I have checked LastError and got following errors.

Return values hint of errors:

Error code Explanation
0x06 Invalid handle
0x57 Invalid parameter
0x78 Function not supported

I don’t understand why these errorcodes popup because:

  • Parameters are correct
  • Functions are supported on WM6 which I’m targeting

Only if I could get scrollbars to appear.

Been busy with work again and propably will be atleast until summer 2009. What is keeping me busy. Well planning mostly, we are trying to learn SCRUM development practices with my developer team.

This friday me and my colleague are giving a short demonstration about games that we’ve done last summer. After demonstration I will have some talented persons to interview for game project. What the game will be about is still at concept phase.

At the moment I’m studying touchlib and next week I’ll begin to work on my own demos. Multitouch, realtime games would be a great to develop.

Last week I found out about Pocket Scrobbler, Last.FM client for Windows Mobile. Pocket Scrobbler is quite young I already love it. Just wish I had 3G coverage at home :) It is currently being developed by two people. I've been thinking that I would pitch in and help them if I can.

Oon katsellu pitkän aikaa sopivaa softaa toisen koneen hallintaan töissä. On melko rasittavaa vaihtaa pöytäkoneen näppäimistöltä läppärin näppäimille. Samalla joutuu  kääntymään ja työasentokin on mitä on. Hienointa softassa on että se tukee Windowsin lisäksi *nixia ja Macciä. Samalla saa kaikille koneille yhteisen leikepöydän.

Back again at my favorite topic, Sharepoint. I had struggled earlier with our extranet Sharepoint deployment. Problem I had was with ECTS and it's user authentication.

I've now lost all hope of getting ECTS to work. Instead I realized that I can add extranet users to local groups on our server. Atleast now I got our extranet working and available to internet.

Great news again. Latest rc of dokuwiki is great. And after checking chimeric's darcs I finally got blog-plugin to work. Actually I updated pagelist-plugin and that fixed the annoying memory exhausted error.

I just updated my dokuwiki to latest release candidate. Thumbs up that all plugins work...

Update

Seems that all plugins, except blog, work nicely.

Microsoft recently published a solution accelerator for Extranet Collaboration. I tested beta version earlier but could not get it to work. I thought that part of the problems was because it was in beta. Now I have tested RTM version and I still get the same errors and problems. It pisses me off to see unfinished products go out to web.

Okay, I may have configured the server poorly but there is no support. Or I just havent found it yet. MSDN forums seem as quite slow support channel.

Hopefully I get problems solved soon. I'll keep you posted.

CeBIT is over for me this year. I went there last year also. Last years fairs weekdays were all about business. This year there were more normal than business people. It's great that normal people get to see all kinds of cool gadgets. I've always thought that CeBIT fair is meant for professional and business people. Last year only the weekend was meant for normal people. Hopefully that will be the case next year.
